Constructed Wetlands, Palomino Wetlands, Perth
I travelled to Western Australia in December 2010 to sample some of their more unusual mosquitoes. As part of the trip, I visited some expansive constructed wetlands in south-east Perth. Like many of the constructed wetlands associated with new residential developments, the vegetation was fairly sparse and fish were abundant. It would be interesting to revisit in 5 years time to see how the wetlands are evolving (and perhaps the mosquito populations as well).
